Xoxo

So I was going through the photos on my hard drive the other day and found a photo from my sisters wedding that I just HAD to scrap. I loved the photo and could picture using this xoxo cut file behind it.

My sisters wedding colours were black and gold, do I decided to keep it simple using those colours.
I started with putting some vellum and gold glitter paper behind the xoxo. The only thing I would do different is I would put gold glitter behind the bottom xo instead of the one above it. But it's down now, so leaving it as it is.
Once the cut file was down I mounted my photo on some foam to pop it up and then added some more gold with some gold color shine.
Then I used a rub on saying forever and ever, made a banner and a small cluster and used that as my title- I just realised I forgot to add the tiny finishing touches of bling lol.
Like unsaid, just keeping it simple to focus on the photo and the gold on the cut file.
Thanks for looking
And happy scrapping

Scrapping Clearly ( and pleasantly surprised )

Tonight I started scrapping without having a process video in mind, and just scrapped for me. I saw the Scrapping Clearly challenge sketch and thought I'd give it a go.

I wanted to give it a go and I picked a photo to trim down to 4x4. I'm not usually one to layer like this- i don't usually like it. But I wanted to try this sketch and make it work for me.
I remembered I had some CTMH pocket page cards that would suit the photo perfectly. So undecided to use the pocket life cards to layer. And as my title suggests, I was pleasantly surprised with how I turned out. I wasn't expecting to like it, but info- I love this layout :)

I used some distress stain to create my splats and let them run down the page. I love the messy grunge look. Then I applied my layers- using my pocket page cards. My "title" is made of very small phrase stickers- I thought I'd try something different and I just love it :) it suits the picture we'll. It says "You are capable of becoming more then you realise."

New art journal page

This week I have an entry for the Simon Says Stanp Monday challenge. This weeks challenge was to
Make your own Background.
And seeing as all my art journal pages start with a background I thought it would be the perfect thing to do for this challenge.
And this is what I came up with...
I started with my dylusions. I applied with a card to mix the colours as I dragged the cars across the page. Then I added some distress stamps. I felt I had over done it so I got my paints back out and used my fingers to blend the paints and stamped images together. And I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Thanks fi looking and happy scrapping

Art journalling again

So I have finally got some energy back and am, finally, once again finding inspiration in things.
Don't you just love it when the mojo is flowing so much that a quick sit down at the craft desk turns into hours long because the idea is just moving forward so much.
I saw this challenge on the Simon Say Stamp Wednesday challenge blog.

And I thought to myself, I have a great art journal page in mind for that. I could use modelling paste to create texture- something I do all the time.
Song started on a background and the ideas just kept coming. The inks were blending great, the colour was just what I was after. The quote I loved matched the layout perfectly, It was all going amazing.
Next thing I knew my alarm was going off telling me it was time to go get my son from school lol.
And this is what I created
It may not look like much but there is 4 different coloured inks in there lol. I will have to take a better picture with natural light tomorrow and hope it shows it better lol.
Thanks for stopping by

123 Challenge Blog

The March 123 challenge went live so I can now share with you my DT entry for their months challenge.
For this months challenge I decided to make an Art Journal page. I love art journaling and love to play with paints and ink and all sorts of messy things.
And this page came together really easily. As I was gathering my colours to fill the autumn colour criteria it all seemed to flow from there. I used red and orange dylusions paints and had a touch of brown on my pallet. I used an old card to drag the paint over the page- and in doing this the colours blended together beautifully.
I love this layout- thanks for stopping by, hope you will join us this month for our challenge.

Happy Scrapping
