Dec 1 2 3 challenge.

This months challenge over at 123 was a good one.
That challenge was black and white, the word Perfect and the technique was stamping.
Not as easy as it looked believe me. I really struggled with only using black and white. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE using black and white as a base, BUT the I just LOVE to add a splash of bright colour- so not adding that colour was a bit of a challenge, but I think it turned out alright lol.
I started with white card stock base, then used the packaging technique to put some black down as my Matt. I made my pic a little smaller then 4x6 as I was using an 8x8 layout. Then I added my title using a Heidi swapp wood veneer word and thickers. A few stamped hearts and little embellishments and it was done.

Elf on the shelf 2014

I think this is one of my absolute fave layouts so far.

This is a layout in our 2014 elf on the shelf album. I'm using the holiday smash book to document our Elf's antics. This was day 5.
When I started I wasn't too happy with where it was going. After a few adjustments it all came together nicely and I love how it turned out. It's also the most I have ever journaled on a spread .

Scrapping clearly August mood board

So I'm finally back at it- into the challenges. This is my first this month.
This is the scrapping clearly August mood board.
Gorgeous colours, and a little out of the ordinary for me- I don't use purples and pinks much with my boys.
But purple is most def my sisters colour so I decided to make a start on her wedding album.

And this is what I came up with.
I had fun with my dyelysions- just gorgeous colours and blend beautifully. And I use a dear Lizzy stencil that I misted then transferd the image onto cards tick.
I love this pic of her. One of my faves.

Scrap the boys challenge

This months scrap the boys challenge was also a mood board- how I love mood boards :)
Gorgeous bright colours. And this is what I came up with.

I love the contrast these colours give with the green in the photo.
Just love how it came together. Not a lot of embellishing due to the background colours mostly. I used my title as an embellishment too.

Mood board challenge

So we have recently moved house, which means for the majority of this month all my scrap stuff has been packed up :(
Last weekend I managed to finally unpack it all- just in time to get a challenge or 2 done.
I just scraped in I think :)

This month, the challenge at Anna's Craft Cupboard was a mood board Challenge.
I just loved this board. I love the colours. Perfect for my boys. And I found the perfect photo from our 50's festival back in June- Cooly Rocks On.
Like Father, Like Son.

June white with 1

This months white with 1 challenge was the gorgeous Biscay Bay. A gorgeous Blue colour.
I lived this colour, and really enjoyed working with my new distress inks to make this layout :)

My gorgeous boys Gremlin and Buddy. (See post "meet the family" to understand lol)
Thanks for looking and happy scrapping

Sassy June mood board

So this months sassy scrapper mood board was gorgeous.
I love this quote, and the watercolour feel of this board. That as well as the text type and the colours made me think of the inspire project life kit. So that's what I used :)

I cut up some PL cards (gasp, yes) and used my gelatos to make a water colour background and cut some hearts from more cards. I love the soft colors of this layout.
Thanks for looking and happy scrapping.

Meet the family...

I have realised, in my lasts few posts I have made reference to my 2 boys and my man child husband. They feature a lot  in my scrapbooking so I thought I would introduce you to them .

First up- the man child husband :) he is without a doubt my biggest child and requires the most supervision. Yes that's him peeking out of the hammock.

Next we have Master 7.
Most commonly referred to as Buddy. He got that nickname from his little brother. Turns out we must have said it a few times and he picked up on it, and now calls him that.
Yep- asleep at the dinner table.
And finally we have Master 3.
ALWAYS referred to as Gremlin! He got that nickname due to its literal meaning- "A small mischievous monster with sharp teeth". When he was little he actually took bites out of his brothers thongs.
He is my monster, my cheeky monkey.
Charming aren't they.
In case you missed it- they are an entertaining bunch. Never dull and always full of adventure.

Scrap the boys June challenge

I love challenges. It's great for inspiration,
Gets the mojo flowing.
Thai months challenge from the scrap the boys blog was a sketch challenge.
This is the sketch.
This is my take on the sketch...
Scrap the boys is always one of my favourite challenge blogs. With 2 boys, a man child husband, and 2 nephews- I'm never short of photos to suit any challenge. This one happens to be my youngest nephew Jax on his first birthday.

D-lish scraps June Challenge.

This is my first challenge entry for the month of June.
I started with the mood board from
Dlish scraps.

I just loved these colours, and when I saw this pic I knew it would work perfect.
This is a picture of my youngest playing in the bushes one afternoon. The photo had a mega bright spot due to the angle of the sunshine when I took it but I loved it so much I just went with it.
The kaisercraft shine bright collection was perfect for this mood board in every way, even down to the script don't lol. I loved it.

Jot mood board for May

Last upload for the night.
I finished my jot mood board inspired layout just now. I keep forgetting it's so late in the month. I think I completed 4 challenges today, I totally forgot it was the last day of the month lol.
So here is my layout- it's a project life LO.

Sassy scrapper may challenge

You know when you start a page and without realising it, it develops into something totally different.
That's what happened here lol. I started out with the sassy mood board in mind
Now you will notice the lack of pink in my layout.

I loved the blues and especially that quote. And to me this quote is what made me think of this picture of my 7 yo.
My boy has autism and has only just overcome his anxiety of slides. That is why I love this pic so much. The fun he is having in the face of something that scared him so much it was impossible for him to go near.
So that was how I drew my inspiration from this page. Hope you like it.

White with 1 May challenge.

White with 1 would have to be one of my favourite challenges :)
This month was no different with this fabulous colour.
Now with 2 boys and a man child husband, I don't use feminine colours much. But I took the plunge and gave it a go- I had nothing in the way of embellishments in this colour either lol.
But I love my multimedia, so out came the modelling past and distress stains. I recently acquired picked raspberry so it was perfect. I even managed to use a pic of myself and my 2 boys. I turned it black and white and was very happy with the way it came together.

Deer and fawn may challenge

This months challenge over on the Deer & Fawn blog was to make at least 2 of your own project life cards.
I started with my photos then filled the spaces with blank 3x4 and 4x6 cards and went to work.
It was a lot of fun making my own, I used my mists and stamps and my new fave distress stains (OMG, love these!) and this is what I came up with...
Go check out the blog, it's an awesome shop as well. :)
Thanks for looking and happy scrapping.

Scrap the boys challenge

So every month I find all the scrap book challenges I can and put them in a file on my computer. Then I TRY and enter as many as I can.
Mostly this helps get my mojo flowing.
This is one of my fave. With 2 boys and a childlike hubby, it's always right up my alley.
This was the challenge this month.
Create a page inspired by this image.

Well as soon as I saw it I loved the tire tread in the backround, and I saw this over a pop of red gelato.
So that was exactly where I started lol.

Then I remembered I had some kaisercraft garage days embellies. And figured these suited the pic perfectly.

I'm really pleased with how this turned out.
Ever get a page in mind and it just comes together exactly how you imagined it?

D-Lish Scraps April Challenge.

So Im on a roll lately with my scrapbooking, and challenge entries. I'm really loving the inspiration and how my pages are turning out.

This was a mood board challenge, I just loved the gold feathers and that raspberry colour. I'm a Stampin' Up demo, and I interpreted that as rich razzleberry, so that is what I used.
When I saw this mood board I knew I wanted to use a recent pic I had of myself. This board was very feminine  to me, and having 2 boys, well 3 if you include the hubby, I don't often scrap in these colours, and I thought it was time I added a pic of myself to my album this year. I wanted to use my feather dies and cut some out of gold glitter paper. I saw that much, the rest of the layout came together as I went.

The backround is my favourite. I misted a Kaiser stencil I have, but I focused the mist on the centre so the colour got lighter as it sprayed out. I like that it gives it a look of matting the photo.
I love the gold, but I also wanted to add a touch of the razzelberry. So I added splatters first, then decided to colour the wood veneer butterflies as well. It gives it just enough colour.

Scrap the Boys april Challenge

I am really enjoying this months challenges I have found so far. Having 2 boys, I love the scrap the boys challenge a lot. I can always find inspiration there.
This month was a mood board challenge.
This mood board made me think of the beach, and I had the most perfect picture in mind.
When I saw this mood board this pattern paper came to mind. I really wanted to use it, but I didn't want to alter it too much or distract from it. It was too perfect. So I decided to layer embellishments, definantly a lot more then I normally do, but like I said I didn't want to take too much away from the water look of the paper, and I wasn't really sure what else to add. So this is what I ended up with.

Hoppy Easter....

Yes , I was that corny. I did In fact say hoppy easter just now- I even put it as the title on my easter project life layout :)

For some reason every time I do a celebration layout, a birthday or Xmas etc, I never like the way it turns out. Still haven't figured out what goes wrong hahaha, but I'm happy with this.
I did this layout for the Jot magazine mood board.

This mood board made me thing of Easter. So that's where I went with my layout. No navy but lots of pink and green and florals. Thanks for looking.

Bittersweet.... Scrap the tough stuff too.

So I really struggled with this layout. As in it took me 4 days to do it. Not physically but emotionally.
I knew I wanted to use this grey paper with a pop of pink as the base- really wanted to focus on the colour over the grey.
I even had my multimedia back round finished before I had my photo picked. I really struggled with picking the picture. That alone took me 2 days. I wasn't sure if I wanted to put it in the album, if I wanted to remember that moment. But I figured there was no other photo I would want in its place. I even tried a few alternitives. But in the end it worked.

Once I had my pic the whole layout came together pretty quickly.
The backround took the longest, with the paint smears, the modelling paste and the inking. But I was happy with it in te end. With such a busy backround with lots of colour I chose to keep the embellishments to a minimum to focus on te photo. I didn't want to overload the layout.

This was a big lesson for me in documenting everything. Even the tough moments. This is the last photo I have with my beautiful mum and i wanted to document that. That moment, that love.
I will never forget that moment- exactly what I was thinking as I was looking at her.

Babies babies and more babies :)

It seems everyone is either pregnant or just had a baby. Must be somethin in the water.
Personally, 2 close friends just popped out little ones within days of one another- one boy one girl :) so I have been making baby cards- and loving it I might add lol.
This one went down with an adorable little out fit for miss Charlotte. I have boys so I don't get to use much pink, so I loved making this.
This one was more in my comfort zone- for little master Lucas :)
This one included an adorable set of overalls lol and some advice about being in a house of boys from personal experience - "there will be mud, there will be blood and there will be mischief. Go with the flow and learn to laugh it off lol."

And my fave to finish it off. Another friend is expecting, so I made this clean and simple baby bump card- I just love it :)

Crafting for a cause...

So I saw a post the other day about an organisation that makes pamper bags for mums with kids on the spectrum. They were looking for people that made cards- hoping to get a few donations of cards for these bags.
Being a parent to 2 boys on the spectrum I really loved this idea. It was perfect for me because I love making cards but find I have nothin to do with them once I make them. I have lots of fab stamps sets I like to try out. I send cards to the Cards for Troops organisation at Xmas and Mother's Day for the same reason.
I sent a message and signed up. I'm happy that my cards are going to a good cause. And one I have personal experience in.
So that is what I have been doing for the past few days. And so far, this is my fave card. It's using the Stampin Up! Lotus flower set- fantastic!
I actually made the backround when I was testing out the stamp set and trialing out colour combos. It looked so cute I couldn't waste it so I turned it into a card. And I love it.

Using my stamps

So I love using my stamps- I have a nice collection of Stampin Up stamps that I just love using.
So today being my sisters birthday is just another excuse to get them out lol.
I saw this technique I have been wanting to try "triple stamping".
Well I don't like the amount of layers so I only did 2 for my card- but I still like the technique.
Very happy with how it turned out. The new lotus stamp is just fabulous too.

My very own DIY "clip it up"

So I have always hated my embellishment storage. It was just all my packets thrown together in a messy desk organiser. I never went threw it and didn't know half the stuff I had in there- so there for didn't use half of what I had.
Then I saw the fabulous Clip it up. Looked great. But didn't have the funds or access to one. So I went on to pinterest- who doesn't love Pinterest. And I saw that people were making their own from lamp l shades!! Yes, lamp shades! Brilliant, no?
So I went right out and brought myself a cheap lamp and this is what I have now

It's not flash or fancy but it def does the job and I love it! I can see all my stuff at a glance and am more likely to use it now.
Gotta love Pinterest!

It's Project Life kind of weather...

So anyone else on my side of the world knows that Tropical Cyclone Marcia is sending the rain our way and in my little part of the world, that makes for some perfect crafting weather.
So I'm catching up on my 2015 album.
Now I have recently started PLing weeks as well as my usual events- how do I do both you ask? Well I mix and match and go with what works. So while I have a week 1 & 2 in my album,I will have this spread instead of a week 3. Make sense?
Works for me :) so I'm happy.

This layout was of my 2 boys- well 3 if you include the husband, bowling. My boys love bowling, even my youngest who usually doesn't like anything lol.
All that is missing is the date.
I like the look of journaling/embellishing straight onto the photo. Doing it a lot more lately.

So I'm rexieved my first pocket page letter the other day. I'm in love with this new trend (link to video in previous post).

So I am starting my next pocket page to send back to my new pal- it's so addictive, I started on it as soon as I rexieved hers :)

I love my kikki k

ŽSo you may have noticed an older post where I said I jumped on the planner craze. Well I was going to wait for the Simple Stories Life Documented Planner. With the hold ups that occurred with this line I ended up not wanting to wait lol.
So on Jan 1st I made my first visit to Kikki K at Robina.
I was in love!!
And I brought my very first planner- the gorgeous gold planner.
Isn't it gorgeous? :)
Want a peek at my week?
Yes that is a robo cop movie marathon scheduled in for Valentnes Day :)
